Hatchery Technician

In the Hatchery Technician role you will experience all the duties of a Hatchery Technician including, feeding, grading/counting or measuring fish, mortality removal, site security, maintenance and clean up, reporting, record keeping and document management, monitoring fish behaviour, appearance and health while ensuring safety and biosecurity measures are being followed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidates would be safety oriented and willing to work in a team environment with a passion for the industry. They would possess:

• Related post-secondary education
• Relevant experience within the Aquaculture industry
• Well-developed English verbal and written communication
• Data collection and document management knowledge
• Physical ability to complete repetitive tasks and handle up to 25kg of material
• Respect for the need for safe working practices
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Able to work safely and effectively in varying weather conditions
• Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
• Ability to work a shift of 8 days on, 6 days off
• Ability to work a rotational overnight camp shift on an as needed basis
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada
