Site Administration Clerk

North Warning System | Nasittuq Corporation

Location: Various Northern Sites

Type: Unionized, Rotational Position (6 weeks on, 6 weeks off)

Salary Range: $25.10 - $31.37 Hourly

Nasittuq provides Operations & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada-United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada, a Control Centre and Support Centre in North Bay, ON, and a Contract Management Office in Ottawa, ON.

Scope

The Site Administration Clerk is responsible for handling Logistics Support Site (LSS) communications, managing work orders, and providing administrative support to the LSS Manager.

This rotational part-time position requires working in colder climates on a 6-week on, 6-week off schedule. All travel, board, and meals are provided.

This role is reserved for Inuit Land Claim Beneficiary candidates.

What You’ll Do

  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail, faxes, emails, and work orders.
  • Input data for time accounting, daily status reports, and work order management.
  • Book travel, accommodations, and coordinate staff rotations.
  • Maintain office supplies and organize transportation to/from the airstrip.
  • Handle all site travel arrangements and maintain the visitor log.
  • Provide general clerical support, including typing and word processing.
  • Address third-party support individuals’ needs and serve as a point of contact for time accounting queries.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Who You Are:

Education/Certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license (an asset, not required).

Experience

  • Previous administrative or clerical experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong keyboarding skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact tactfully with senior management and visitors.
