Structured Cabling Technician

Nextgen Systems is presently hiring a full time Structured Cabling Technician/contractor in Calgary, AB and nearby areas.

The selected candidate will be customer-focused, responsible, results orientated and provide a positive customer experience every time.

Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, including running cables through walls, ceilings, and floors
- Terminate and test cables to ensure proper connectivity and signal strength
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with cable connections and equipment
- Install and configure network equipment, such as Cisco routers and switches
- Set up and program telephone systems for voice communication
- Perform low voltage wiring for data and telecommunications systems
- Assist with computer networking tasks, including setting up Ethernet connections
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs
- Provide technical support to customers regarding cable services

Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of cable installation techniques and best practices
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring, computer networking, and Ethernet connections
- Proficiency in using hand tools for cable installation and repair
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Basic electrical knowledge for working with power sources
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and provide technical support
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve cable-related issues
- Valid provincial driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract mandatory

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
