Production Operator

Niagara Investment Castings Ltd. currently has production job openings in St. Catharines for the following position:

Production Operator

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for meeting daily production requirements in the Cleaning Room department by performing day to day operations in a team environment. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude who is able to effectively handle physical and manual work in an industrial environment and can make a positive contribution to the team. The candidate must be able to work a day shift and afternoon shift as required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Clean, grind, and finish castings as per the cleaning work order instructions.
• Perform light belt sanding and sandblasting using various industrial tools and equipment.
• Perform various manual job tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling on a regular basis.
• Perform work in a safe manner. Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other job related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Experience in an industrial manufacturing / production environment performing physical / manual work.
• Previous experience working with molten metals within a melting, foundry or casting environment an asset
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts (days and afternoons) as required.
• Must be comfortable working within a hot environment and wearing personal protective equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with team members.

Work Hours

Day Shift: 6:45 am to 3:00 pm.

Afternoon Shift: 3:00 pm to 11:15 pm

Pay Rate

$21.00 to 25.95 / hour

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$25.95 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
