As a valuable part of our service team, we need a flexible hybrid operator that can safely operate a forklift in our Lumber Yard and perform delivery duties using one of our modern trucks as required. We are seeking a flexible positive addition to work with our dynamic customer service focused team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- All team members are to maintain a safe and positive attitude when dealing with all customers and staff
- Package lumber orders for customers.
- Drive truck in a safe manner ensuring all laws and regulations are met and/or followed
- Deliver product to destination, ensure safe placement of materials and vehicle on property, unload or assist in unloading of materials by forklift or by hand
- Maintain personal and company quality assurance standards as set in corporate program.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, rotate stock.
- Keep yard clean of debris and well organized.
- Provide quality service to customers.
- Assist others as instructed by supervisor.
- Conduct daily check of forklift to ensure safe operation; report required maintenance or damage.
- Receive shipments and store in their proper locations.
- Responsible for using all equipment and operating all machinery in a safe, correct and careful manner, as instructed.
Knowledge:
- Forklift experience required.
- Capable of adapting to change readily
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons
- Knowledge of building materials, picking orders, loading and unloading, as well as lumber delivery experience
- Be a team player with a strong desire to succeed
- Exceptional knowledge of the city, surrounding area and a clean driving record
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
- Safety oriented.
