Reporting to the Director of FP&A, the Senior Financial Analyst of FP&A will play a pivotal role in the company’s short and long-term corporate objectives, with a particular focus on supporting the annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes, evaluating business performance, providing meaningful insights, identifying and remediating risks, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ultimately drive growth and business profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the monthly management reporting process by analyzing financial results; coordinating with sites/departments to gather intel related to key business/industry trends, P&L variances, in addition to cash flow activity; reporting and presenting meaningful insights to the management team
· Support in the preparation of the company's annual and long-range financial planning process supported by a detailed bottom-up financial model including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and CAPEX projections;
· Support in the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts;
· Support in the preparation of key deliverables to the Board of Directors including business plans, financial outlooks, business performance, consumer/market intelligence and other meaningful insights
· Support on process change initiatives to further improve the measurement of business performance by streamlining processes, improving communication with cross-functional teams and automation via implementation of enterprise planning, data management and reporting solutions
· Support in the preparation of financial models/analyses for external audit requirements (including impairment analyses), business cases for major capital expenditures and/or other ad hoc strategic business initiatives
· Perform additional responsibilities, as required
Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance;
· Enrollment in or completion of CPA;
· 4 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience, with 2 years of relevant FP&A experience preparing budgets, forecasts, analyzing and reporting on business performance;
· Knowledge of IFRS accounting and reporting principles, including asset impairment tests;
· Related industry experience in consumer-packaged goods and/or manufacturing (Cannabis experience is an asset), with some understanding of inventory costing principles;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into clear and actionable insights for various stakeholders;
· Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with strong financial modeling experience;
