Gym Attendant

Job Overview: We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and professional Gym Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Gym Attendant will ensure the safety, cleanliness, and smooth operation of the gym, assisting members with their fitness needs and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist gym members with any inquiries or needs.
• Monitor the gym floor to ensure safety and proper usage of equipment.
• Clean and maintain gym equipment and common areas, ensuring everything is sanitized and in working order.
• Assist with check-in and check-out of members, ensuring an efficient and friendly service.
• Enforce gym rules and regulations to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Gym Manager.
• Provide basic instructions or guidance on gym equipment usage, as needed.
• Help manage lost and found items.
• Assist with membership renewals, bookings, and general administrative tasks.
• Occasionally support with event planning or fitness class assistance as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a gym, fitness center, or customer service role is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with members and colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Ability to lift and move equipment when necessary.
• Basic computer skills for administrative tasks (e.g., member check-ins, scheduling).
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift weights and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to assist with setting up fitness areas, moving gym equipment, and maintaining a clean space

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift

Work days:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
