Job Purpose: Social Workers provide social and emotional support to children and families to ensure a healthy and positive school experience. Through short term counselling; support assessment, linkage to outside community agencies and crisis intervention and in collaboration with parents/guardians, school personnel and community resources, Social Workers develop behavioural strategies and interventions that maximize opportunities and success in school.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Current knowledge of best practices, assessment, intervention, and consultation methods to support in childhood and adolescent social/emotional development.
Effective communication and collaboration skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
Time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently and problem solve.
Knowledge and adherence to professional standards and ethics specific to the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
Superior case management tracking, documentation, writing and reporting skills.
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
Experience working in the education sector is an asset.
Working Conditions:
As per CUPE Agreement
Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, exact scheduling to be determined
Commencing the start of 2024-2025 school year and ending October 22, 2025
Salary range: $41.15 - $50.07 per hour
Daily travel among division schools is required
Shared office environment
