Department: Machine Shop

Reporting to the Machine Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for machining precision components for Raute machines and equipment. Day Shift start at 6.30am until 3pm (Monday to Friday). Afternoon shift starts at 2.45pm and finishes at 12.45am (Monday to Thursday) in our heated indoor shop. OT rates are paid double time. We are looking for one person on day shift, or one person on afternoon shift with conversational programming experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Machine quality turned parts from blueprint to finish with little or no supervision,
  • Promote safe working practices, maintain a clean work area, and participate in continuous improvement projects,
  • Maintain tools, tooling, equipment, and working area,
  • Willingness to continually improve and update skills,
  • Comply with company procedures and provincial regulations regarding a safe and respectful workplace,
  • Continual update of technical knowledge through education workshops and reviewing technical publications.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Able to consistently start with a blueprint and a piece of material and finish with an accurate precision part with little or no supervision,
  • A good eye for detail and the ability to use precision measuring tools is critical for this position,
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills,
  • Experience with rigging and overhead cranes and Forklift ticket an asset
  • Confidence in skills and able to work independently are a must,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Able to work effectively and safely under pressure and in a rapidly changing environment,
  • Must be able to utilize precision measurement tools accurately and own proper working tools,
  • Must meet all Health and Safety standards and lift a minimum of 20kg,
  • Must possess a valid passport and driver’s license.

Attributes

  • 5 years of experience of CNC Lathe experience (Okuma experience an asset)
  • Conversational experience an asset.
  • Red Seal Machinist an asset
  • Experience with Gibbs Cam would be an asset,
  • Able to effectively communicate and understand instruction, both verbal and written.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $39.49-$46.23 per hour
