Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Refrigeration and HVAC Journeyperson to join our team at RTR. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day mechanical operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of HVACR systems, and contributing to the realization of our long-term vision for the company.
Responsibilities:
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial settings, primarily restaurants.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal system performance.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure client satisfaction.
Collaborate with the team to develop and implement strategies and systems for improving operational efficiency and enhancing customer service.
Assist in the development and implementation of long-term plans and goals for the company.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance schedules, service reports, and inventory management.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Refrigeration and HVAC Technician.
Journeyperson certification in Alberta, or Red Seal certification.
A deep interest in training the next generation of HVACR apprentices.
Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC components, electrical circuits, and control systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques related to HVACR equipment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
