The Maintenance manager will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department. Responsible for ensuring highly diversified duties within a production environment to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems are achieved, and processes are implemented to support the achievement of Rossdown’s business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Operations
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the facility's equipment
- Schedule weekend PM and projects with the internal and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain PM schedules and program
- Monitor and report on mechanical downtime
- Backup for Maintenance tradesman when required
- Ensure yearly code inspection certificates are acquired (Elec. permit, Boiler inspections, Fire Alarm Inspection etc
Leadership
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Initiate safety concerns and makes judgment on the best methods of completing tasks
- Management of direct reports including – hiring, performance management (counselling conversations), and holding employee accountable
- Coordinate contractors’ activities as required
- Ensure contractor WCB approvals, plant safety program orientation and confidentiality statements
- Support the discipline meetings with staff members, people and culture
- Engage in a leadership role within the management team
- Bring forth new ideas to improve on existing production processes
Administration
- Develop Redzone systems into the maintenance department
- Ensure system for timely completion of Maintenance Repairs and Minor Production Improvements
- Ensure all equipment list is updated
- Complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required
- Maintain inventory of new equipment, manuals and warranties
Requirements:
- Licensed Electrical / Mechanical Technical Graduate an asset
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and Maintenance Coordination experience
- 5 years supervisory experience & 10 years in manufacturing
- Strong leadership and communication skills (both verbal & written)
- Strong oral & written skills, proven ability to communicate in an ESL work environment
- Ability to maintain organization of maintenance schedule and files in a changing environment
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
- Able to work well under pressure and pays strong attention to details
- Ability to work shift on off shifts and follow up on trouble calls as required.

Salary: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
