Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is Central Ontario’s largest and most advanced health centre, providing the greatest range of care to the communities we serve. RVH Foundation mobilizes the community to support the world-class, life-saving work of RVH. The Events Assistant for the Foundation plays a crucial role in supporting the development, coordination and execution of signature and third-party events. Working closely with the events team, the Events Assistant contributes to the overall success of fundraising events by supporting logistics, providing general administrative support, and offering strong organizational skills while thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in event management, fundraising, communications, marketing, a related field, or an appropriate combination of education and experience
Experience:
  • Previous experience in event planning or coordination
  • Experience developing and overseeing the execution of logistics for large-scale events an asset
  • Fundraising and/or healthcare experience an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle an asset

  • Knowledge of how philanthropy supports health care and benefits patient care an asset
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of various fundraising events, including but not limited to galas, auctions, tournaments and guest receptions
  • Provide administrative assistance and logistic support to the Event Officer including but not limited to coordinating and executing details with third-party event organizers, liaising with various event vendors and managing a workback schedule to ensure successful execution of event related tasks
  • Assist with set-up, on-site production, and clean-up for events as necessary, including acting as an RVH ambassador at events
  • Assist with the management of RSVP lists, registrations, and ticket sales for events, ensuring accurate attendance tracking and guest communication
  • Plan and coordinate meeting logistics including attendee schedules, agenda, minutes, location, and hosting requirements
  • Attend event committee meetings, as required
  • Establish and maintain relationship with volunteers; support volunteer development activities as necessary
  • Respond to inquiries from the public about events
  • This position will require variable hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate the needs of the role. Total hours worked will not exceed the standard workweek hours
  • Other duties relating to fundraising and event management, as assigned
