Skilled Labourer - General Contracting

Due to an influx of projects, our General Contracting division is seeking to add permanent General Labourers and Skilled Labourers to their team for projects throughout Southwestern Ontario. General Contracting jobs span from commercial and multi-residential to industrial and institutional. The General Labourers assist the Foremen and Sr Carpenters with day-to-day tasks on various project sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load/ unload supplies, materials, tooling, equipment and machinery on jobsite
• Overall set-up, teardown and clean-up of site; organizing jobsite and properly disposing of debris
• Assist site leaders with various construction tasks
• Preparation of work area; posting signage, fitting safety barriers, installing protective covers, etc.
• Operation of various hand tools and other equipment
• Maintain safety standards at all time, reporting any issues with unsafe conditions or equipment

Skills, Experience and Requirements:

• Related construction labour experience (including landscape, concrete, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory
• Physically able to lift and move a variety of construction material and on a repetitive basis
• Safety conscience, you have keen attention to detail and constant awareness of your work surroundings
• Ability to work productively and cohesively in a team-oriented environment
• A motivated learner with an interest in all facets of the trade; lots of opportunity for growth
• Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and be reliable in nature
• A valid Drivers License is required, as is a reliable mode of transportation to get to and from each site
• Excellent communication skills; able to work with both colleagues, supervisors, sub-trades, and customers
• Interest to work in all weather conditions a must
