Title: AR/Collections Specialist (PT)
The Collections Specialist is responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. This position will report to the AR, Credit and Collections Manager.
Role Responsibilities
Review the Lockout and Customer Open Balance Reports to identify delinquent accounts for collection efforts.
Contact past due customers through the appropriate channeling methods, request payments or negotiate payment arrangements within authorized limits
Collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates or agreed payment plans.
Correctly process payments using the POS Machine
Apply payments to clients’ accounts on SmarTrac.
Send out collection letters within 5 days after the month end.
Review collections email and handle all escalations relating to payments, clients in lockout or with outstanding balances within 24/48 hours.
Reconcile clients’ accounts and refer proposed adjustments to the Collections Manager for approval.
Assess and mitigate risk by referring accounts for further actions to Management.
Arrange service calls for the recovery of ignition interlock device from clients’ vehicles when required
Manage administrative duties within the AR, Credit and Collections Department
Collaborate with team members towards meeting the Departmental goals and targets.
Perform ad-hoc duties.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 3 years progressive work experience in collections and accounts receivable
Demonstrate ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced and changing environment.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced skills in Excel and Word.
Excellent organization skills and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong negotiating, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
Experience working with large volumes of data.
Experienced with skip tracing and familiar with using 411, social media
