Custodian/Cleaner

Work Location: Grand Bend Public School - Afternoon Shift

Shift Time:

• Custodian -1 ( 3:15 PM 7:15 PM)
• Custodian -2 (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

• Tidy Up: Begin by organizing classroom materials, including toys, books, and educational tools, to streamline the cleaning process.
• Trash Removal: Empty all garbage and recycling bins, ensuring that waste is properly sorted and disposed of to maintain cleanliness.
• Dusting: Thoroughly dust all surfaces, including shelves, desks, and play areas, to remove dust particles and allergens.
• Sanitizing: Use disinfectants to thoroughly clean desks, chairs, and high-touch areas like doorknobs and light switches, focusing on germ-prone spots.
• Windows: Clean and wipe down all windows and glass surfaces to enhance natural light and classroom appearance.
• Restroom Cleaning: In attached restrooms, clean toilets, sinks, and mirrors, and replenish supplies like soap and paper towels.
• Sweep and Mop: First sweep the floors to remove loose dirt, then mop to eliminate stains and spills, paying extra attention to high-traffic areas.
• Vacuuming: Vacuum carpets and rugs to remove dirt, crumbs, and debris, ensuring a clean environment for children's activities.
• Final Setup: After cleaning, rearrange all furniture, toys, and learning materials to their designated places, preparing the classroom for the next day.
• Security Check: Conclude by checking that all windows are securely closed, doors are locked, and lights are turned off to ensure classroom security and energy conservation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
