ECE Assistant / Cook Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual who is able to spend time in our kitchen as well as work with children.

Responsibilities

• Working in the classroom as an ECEA, supervising and assisting program teachers with supervision of children and conducting various activities with the children.
• Handle food items with care and adhere to proper food handling procedures.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
Support in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
Contribute to various tasks within the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and cleaning.

• Qualifications:

Prior experience working with children aged 30 months to school age

• Valid and clean ECEAssistant or ECE
• Valid Food Safe Certificate
• Valid Childcare First Aid Certificate
• Valid and clean Criminal Record - Vulnerable Sector
• Prior experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
Understanding of food safety practices and protocols.
Ability to work well alone or as a team.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
