Job Description: HOSTESS

RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests and patrons personally
Offer appropriate seating arrangements
Present menus and take orders
Ensure the quantity of menus is sufficient to cater to the number of guests
Set up dining rooms
Maintain clean and organized tables and work area
Clean tables, remove soiled dish-ware, glassware and flatware and deliver it to the dish washer area
Clean and polish counters and furniture and mop and sweep floors
Clean up spilled food and ensure that floors and counter surfaces are cleaned
Keep an eye out for customers looking for service and assist them with their queries
Make sure that the restaurant area is clean at all times
Stock serving areas with items such as napkins, ketchup, and extra sets of flatware
Clean and organize dishes in the kitchen and expedite orders on request from waiters and servers
Assist in clearing tables after each course and bussing them with fresh plates and glasses
REQUIREMENTS
Experience an asset
Excellent oral communication skills
Personable and friendly attitude
Must be able to work well under pressure and in a team environment
Must be able to work weekends
