Busy Oakville Cosmetic Dermatology clinic is seeking a cosmetic nurse injector for a hybrid roll (mix between medical nursing and cosmetic nurse injector). This is an ideal position for a nurse injector who is looking to gain experience. The successful candidate will support the medical side of the practice while receiving preceptor training along side the dermatologist and team of nurse injectors.
This role requires a nurse who enjoys working with people, can remain calm during busy situations and can multi-task without loss of efficiency. This is a hands-on position which requires applicants to work independently, one-on-one with patients, and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Medical Duties:
· Direct patients from waiting room to the examination room and update patient chart in EMR system.
· Prepare and sterilize instruments and surgical supplies
· Ensure necessary equipment is properly maintained and available when needed
· Handle surgical specimens, maintain a sterile atmosphere in each examination room
· Provide instruction and information to families and individuals with respect to health education and disease prevention, and help to create a health improvement plan
· Prepare patients for treatments and assist physicians
· Receive diagnostic test results and relay information to respective doctor and patient
· Assist with treatments of numerous dermatology conditions such as: seborrheic keratoses, actinic keratoses, ILK injections, warts, skin cancers etc.
· Administer intradermal anesthetic (Xylocaine) as directed by physician. Apply wound dressings and give wound care instructions after procedures.
· Manage referrals to other specialties
· Provide patients with information about cosmetic procedures and medical grade skincare available at the clinic
Cosmetic Duties:
· Responsible for administering Neuromodulators and Dermal Fillers
· Provide excellent service and rapport with patients so they remain highly satisfied with their treatments and clinic experience
· Ability to recommend skin care products and treatment options
· Demonstrate a strong use of selling skills
· Maintain confidential patient information, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
Requirements:
· In good standing with the College of Nurses (RN or RPN)
· Certification course in Cosmetic Injectables
· Strong medical knowledge of facial anatomy
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to build good rapport with patients and staff
· Must be able to multi-task, plan, organize and prioritize tasks
· Maintain confidentiality
· Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
