We are looking for an Information Technology (IT) Co-op Student to work within our IT Team. The team’s work focuses on supporting clients and problem solving to find efficient solutions. This involves assisting Technical Support Analysts and finding effective ways to automate tasks. As an IT Co-op, you will have the opportunity to learn and work with a skilled and supportive team in an exciting work environment.

Status: Casual, Full-Time, Union
Pay: Grade 10, $26.74/hour
Location: Vancouver, BC (Suite 600 - 2889 East 12th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5M 4T5)
Days/Hours of Work: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5:00pm (hybrid: in office approximately 3 days a week & remote work)
Posting Period: May to August 2024 (with potential to start earlier in April if available)
Work Term: 4-months
  • Canadian citizenship or work authorization required

About the role

The IT Co-op will support Technical Support Analysts and assist with optimizing systems and applications. There will be a concentration on creating and providing managers with usage reports and delivering user support to various clients. The successful candidate will also have solid communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to understand and resolve user issues.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in diploma or degree program in computer science
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Ability to create, run and provide usage reports
  • Ability to apply priority levels to incoming requests
  • Ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language
  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of optimizing systems/applications
  • Knowledge of provisioning/automation
  • Knowledge of MS Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel), Visio, MS Teams, Zoom
  • Knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems and macOS
  • Knowledge of networking
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming (PowerShell, Perl, or Bash)
  • Familiarity of various hardware (PC Laptops, MacBooks, iPads, iPhones)
