The Solventless Extraction Technician must carry out day-to-day tasks focused on the extraction and processing of solventless cannabis extracts. Work activities can change daily according to the production schedule. Some of the daily tasks would include washing and drying bubble hash, pressing rosin, infusing cannabis, creating solventless diamonds, cleaning and maintaining our extraction systems, packaging final product, preparing lab samples, & completing batch records. A heavy focus on daily sanitation activities of all tools, equipment, and production spaces is also expected. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring solventless extraction and packaging work schedule is achieved weekly. Prep work, pre and post processing of bubble hash and rosin A lot of cleaning Long periods of standing, lots of manual work that is done by hand Operate rosin press, manually pressing Hash Rosin Operation and maintenance of automated bubble hash washing system Operation and maintenance of Freeze Dryers Operate and maintain kief extraction systems. Quick and efficient packaging of solventless extracts Transport of pre- and post-processed cannabis extracts between production environments. Heavy focus on daily equipment, tool, production room sanitation activities. Other duties as needed including work in alternative departments IE cultivation/packaging/vape/prerolls when needed. Maintain all sanitation protocols Keep daily records for accuracy and compliance with all the laws and Health Canada standards. Understand and follow all related SOPs and procedures to GMP standards. Complete all required documentation using good documentation practices • Communicate any issues with Management. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 2 years prior experience in a fast-paced cannabis production facility / processing position in a manufacturing environment. Must have accountability, proactive behaviour and strong attention to detail. A passion for cannabis extracts, and for the cannabis industry is a plus Must work well with a team, and follow directions with precise attention to detail. Must do well in a fast paced environment and have the ability to multi-task/prioritize. WORK CONDITIONS: This is a fast paced manufacturing working environment, which may have continuous exposure to cold, light and humidity, extreme variation of temperature throughout different areas and departments of the facility. High decibel output from the automated washing machines, must be able to wear all designated PPE including over the ear hearing protection or full face respirators for long periods of time. This position involves significant exposure to wet/dry cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), standing and bending for long periods of time. Work Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (overtime as needed to complete tasks). At BZAM, we provide a competitive salary range that is based on your experience and expertise. The hourly range for this position is $18 - $20 per hour.
