Position Overview

The Junction Public House, located in the heart of the West End on Davie Street, has been a staple of Vancouver's vibrant nightlife and community for over 19 years. Our sister venue, PumpJack, has been a cornerstone of the community for over 25 years. With a rich history of offering memorable experiences to a diverse clientele, we are now seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to lead and manage events.

As the Event Coordinator, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape events for the Junction with the potential to also develop events at PumpJack in the future. You will foster our continued growth within the 2SLGBTQIA community and the community at large. You will play a critical role in executing events that align with our commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment and exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of event planning, from concept to execution.
  • Stay informed about evolving entertainment trends to enhance event offerings.
  • Plan logistics for events, including vendor coordination, entertainment booking, floor plans, security, catering, A/V needs, decor, marketing, digital and social medial tools and platforms.
  • Negotiate contracts with entertainers, DJs, and vendors to secure the best possible arrangements.
  • Establish and manage event budgets, timelines, and contingency plans.
  • Train and coordinate staff to ensure smooth event execution.

· Work alongside with the General Manager ensuring events and operations fully align

· Take on the duties of the General Manager as may be needed from time to time.

  • Ensure all events comply with legal, health, safety regulations and all internally established policies.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success, gather feedback, and implement improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong ability to conceptualize and execute unique, engaging event experiences.
  • Proven success in event planning, coordination, and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, handling high-pressure situations, and making sound decisions.
  • A professional yet approachable demeanor, capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and late nights as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in event planning, entertainment coordination, or a related field.
  • Experience in marketing, public relations.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality, nightlife, or entertainment industry to a diverse audience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
