Position Information
Temporary position until approximately January 01, 2025.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, 8 hour shifts (08:00-16:00).

What you will do
Under the supervision of the Manager, Accounts Receivable and/or Coordinator, Accounts Receivable, the A/R Administrator, in a computerised environment is responsible to verify, audit, process and adjust data for out-patient, in-patient and non-patient (sundry) accounts, perform all functions related to hospital and physician billing in the Health Information System, as assigned and perform all functions related to non-patient (sundry) billing in the ERP system, as assigned. Other types of billing in support of hospital activities may be assigned (TOHRCC, Dental Clinic etc.)
The AR Administrator is responsible for proper assignment of payment received to patient and customer accounts. The AR administrator performs collection functions on all patient and non-patient (sundry) accounts, maintains control over collection agency accounts. The AR Administrator prepares monthly reports and accruals as required. The AR Administrator understands, complies with and enforces internal controls applicable to billing and cash processes, hospital's policies and procedures related to protecting patient private information and digital data security, escalating any issues to immediate manager.
Basic Requirements
Minimum of one (1) year of recent Finance experience in a computerized environment or one (1) year of clerical hospital experience with patient contact;
2 post-secondary accounting related courses successfully completed within the last 5 years or equivalent experience as defined below. Successful completion is defined as having obtained a grade of 65% or higher;
Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of two (2) post-secondary accounting courses. Equivalent experience is defined as minimum of two (2) years of recent; accounts receivable and billing experience in a computerized environment using a large-scale ERP system (Oracle, SAP, Epic etc.);
Recent experience is defined as having occurred within the last three years;
Billing and cash receipts processes, and related system functionality in HIS and ERP Systems (i.e., Epic and Oracle);
Ability to analyze, evaluate and process data;
Understanding of basic accounting terminology and concepts;
Knowledge of internal controls related to billing and cash;
Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures safeguarding patients’ private information and digital data security;
Data Entry;
Excel (Basic);
Microsoft productivity tools: Outlook, Calendar, Teams;
Word (Basic);
Ability to communicate with patients, clients, staff, and other internal and external stakeholders in a clear, courteous, and effective manner;
Ability to collaborate with others to achieve desired outcomes;
Ability to prioritize, exercise good judgement and escalate when appropriate;
Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.
