Job Posting for Production Supervisor at The Peelle Company Ltd.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of employees in working in shipping, final assembly, paint-line, manufacturing parts, electrical, welding and assembly, brake press operations, and laser cutting. The successful candidate will ensure that production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed

Monday to Thursday: 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM

Responsibilities:

Production Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility to ensure production targets and daily welding hours are met.
  • Coordinate production schedules, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to front-line unionized employees.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance conversations and provide feedback to employees.
  • Address employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, implement corrective actions, and provide safety training as needed.

Inventory and Logistics:

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of finished products.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.

Payroll Administration:

  • Accurately track and record employee hours worked.
  • Enter payroll data into the Kebrite system and verify accuracy.
  • Submit payroll information before payroll processing cut-off times.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary in Business Administration, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the steel or metal fabrication industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, including lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements is an asset.
  • Must have strong work ethics.
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter.
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
  • Proficient in Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), ability to use a personal computer and various software packages such word processing and spreadsheet design.
  • Must be able to work up to 40 hours weekly in our Brampton facility.

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
