Community Engagement Coordinator, TNLIP

TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO) is a well-established community-based social and health service agency providing a wide range of programs and services supporting low-income and newcomer communities across Ontario and sometimes across different provinces through online services and referrals. We are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator, TNLIP to join our team in a full-time contract role until March 31, 2026.

Reporting to the Director, Newcomer Services & TNLIP Manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator supports the Toronto East and North Local Immigration Partnership through newcomer engagement, partnership building, and research. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Health Promotion, Political Science, Community Planning, International Development, Communications, or a related field, with 2-3 years of relevant experience. They should have strong skills in research, outreach, frontline services, and qualitative data collection/analysis, along with knowledge of Toronto’s immigration, settlement and community programs. Proficiency in MS Office, Canva, and designing flyers/presentations is required, along with excellent verbal and written communication, public speaking, and report writing skills. The candidate must also have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and experience working both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with virtual program facilitation, social and multicultural sensitivity, and ties to the LIP communities are essential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with conducting comprehensive community assessments to identify strengths, needs, and opportunities within the newcomer population and wider community
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather and analyze data that informs community needs and priorities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a strategic plan that aligns with community needs and goals of the Local Immigration Partnership
  • Facilitate planning sessions and workshops with community members and stakeholders to gather input and foster a collaborative approach to strategic planning
  • Establish metrics and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of work plans, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan
  • Monitor the implementation of the strategic plan and adjust based on ongoing community feedback and evaluation results
  • Foster an environment of collaboration by establishing working groups or committees focused on specific strategic priorities
  • Coordinate a thematic Work Group (WG)
  • Build relationships with community service providers, residents, neighborhood leadership, faith groups, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Engage with stakeholders through various networks to disseminate Local Immigration Partnership initiatives and seek new partnership opportunities
  • Ensure participation of WG members in all Council meetings and relevant events
  • Maintain relationships with both new and existing WG members
  • Create and compile content for external communications
  • Contribute to the implementation of the TEQ LIP’s communication strategy to ensure clear communication of project activities
  • Organize and implement Local Immigration Partnership events and workshops
  • Maintain and administer the database of the North and East wide agency-based partnership and members
  • Supervise placement students and volunteers.
  • Work collaboratively with other WG coordinators and LIPs to ensure overall project goals are achieved
  • Prepare and submit monthly statistics and progress reports pertaining to project outcomes
  • Supports TNO outreach and agency-wide activities

Screening – As a condition of employment, the successful applicant must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Job Type: Full-time contract position until March 31, 2026

Work Location(s): 45 Overlea Blvd Toronto, ON M4H 1C3 and other TNO locations.

Schedule: 35 hours per week. Evening and weekend work may be required by program needs.
