Overview:

As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will be instrumental in fostering connections with local communities and establishing meaningful partnerships with businesses and organizations. Your efforts will play a vital role in promoting engagement and collaboration, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of our festival.

Responsibilities:

Engage with Local Communities:

  • Actively reach out to diverse community organizations to build relationships and foster engagement.
  • Attend community events and meetings to represent our festival and promote our mission.

Build Partnerships:

  • Identify potential partners among businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, and other organizations.
  • Initiate and cultivate partnerships through networking, outreach, and relationship-building.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop and implement joint initiatives that benefit the community and align with our objectives.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with community members, partners, and stakeholders through various channels, including in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and social media.
  • Articulate our organization's mission, goals, and initiatives clearly and persuasively.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in community outreach, engagement, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
