The Town of Stony Plain has a permanent full-time position available for a Watch Clerk. Working in the Parkland RCMP Detachment under the supervision of the Watch Clerk Coordinator, the Watch Clerk provides operational and clerical support to the RCMP members including, but not limited to: dispatch, file management, data searches, and duties specific to operational software (PROS, PIP, CPIC, JOIN and ROADS).
The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of one (1) year experience in a comparable position. Post-secondary education in Legal Administration would be considered an asset. The Watch Clerk will work in a stressful environment and therefore requires the ability to use sound judgement while remaining calm and courteous when handling a variety of police situations. Experience in an automated law enforcement environment, including PROS, JOIN, CPIC, and ROADS is an asset. Knowledge of the RCMP and judicial court and legal systems is also highly desirable. Experience assisting in court-related duties, including compilation of legal documents and E-Disclosure is preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to work shift work, including evenings and weekends. Based on a 37.5-hour work week, the salary range for this position is $53, 837 - $68, 496 per annum. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Level Security Clearance; a current and active clearance is an asset.
