About us

We are a boutique law firm in downtown Winnipeg providing comprehensive legal services in the areas of wills, estates and trusts

Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs

- Organize and maintain case files and documents

- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings

- Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness files

- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records

- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness

- Provide administrative support to the legal team

Skills:

- Strong legal drafting skills with attention to detail

- Proficient in clerical tasks such as filing and organizing documents

- Project management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

- Experience using document management systems

- Accurate and efficient data entry abilities

- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Administrative skills to handle phone calls, emails, and other communications professionally

- Proficient in proofreading legal documents for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors

This position requires a candidate who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently. The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the legal team by providing administrative assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Salary: $46,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
