About the Project:

The Surrey Langley SkyTrain project will extend the Expo Line by 16 kilometers, primarily along Fraser Highway from King George Station in Surrey to 203rd Street in the City of Langley. It will improve regional transportation connections and provide fast, frequent and reliable transit service, especially for those who live, work, study and play south of the Fraser River. The project includes eight new stations and three new transit exchanges. Once complete, the travel time from Langley City Centre to King George SkyTrain Station will be about 22 minutes.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to support the Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project’s construction team. This pivotal role will assist the Construction Director and Construction Managers in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities on this major infrastructure project.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct project management activities in the field, monitor project deliverables, and report on progress regarding Project Co’s performance, conformance and compliance with the Project Agreement.
  • Keep track of the stakeholder review of submittals, including consolidating comments from the Project Contractor and project staff.
  • Prepare, format, and proofread a variety of documents and materials such as memos, presentation materials, graphs, flow charts, tables, reports, briefing notes, correspondence, and spreadsheets, using desktop tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Arrange and schedule technical meetings, and makes necessary arrangements (e.g., meeting dates and locations, required equipment), prepares agendas with pertinent background information, tracks action items, attends meetings, and takes and distributes minutes.
  • Respond to queries raised by the project team and elevates as appropriate.
  • Support document management within the construction team.
  • Support the administration of construction contracts including review of activities, hours and associated expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system to ensure all correspondence, communications and submissions are documented and distributed.
  • Schedule, facilitate and attend regular meetings to track and report on project activities.


Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in business administration, arts, communications, or engineering or and experience in project coordination or project management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in project management for infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle the demands of a fast-paced project with deadline pressures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience and proficiency working with the MS Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Teams, and SharePoint.
