Job Posting for Cannabis Processing and Extraction Technician at Unite Biotechnical

Unite Biotechnical Ltd., a Health Canada licensed cannabis producer in the Central Saanich area seeks to hire a cannabis extraction and processing technician.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform extractions using CO2 and ethanol.
  • Perform post-processing and clean up of extracts
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on extraction instrumentation and other equipment
  • Meet timelines and quality expectations
  • Perform basic calculations
  • Work with the QA team to assess the quality of extractions
  • Carefully document output and waste
  • Maintain organized data and batch production records
  • Assist other departments as necessary
  • Handling and storing dried cannabis flower material
  • Operating production equipment, including cannabis flower trimming equipment, hash making equipment, and packaging and labeling equipment
  • Destroying unneeded cannabis plant material
  • Cleaning and sterilizing rooms, equipment, and supplies
  • Carrying out other general duties to maintain the facility

Qualifications/competencies:

  • A minimum of two years experience in various extraction methods preferred
  • Fire safety and hazardous material safety knowledge
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Diligent record keeping
  • Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and assess mathematical-based data
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization
  • Ability to follow specific instructions
  • A commitment to accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Prior experience with manufacturing or production line-related work would be an asset
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Proper and safe handling and disposal of harmful chemicals, substances and waste. The successful candidate must be able to pass a RCMP criminal background check

Compensation: $20-25/hr., depending on experience
