University of Calgary Properties Group Ltd. (UCPG) is looking for a part-time Customer Experience Ambassador who will represent University District at the Discovery Centre – a central hub for community connections where you’ll showcase the neighbourhood, home options, project updates and events. It’s where people will come to meet, learn, and explore University District.

Job Summary

The Customer Experience Ambassador is the first point of contact at the University District Discovery Centre. As a representative of our community and our homebuilders, the CEA fosters positive relationships with visitors and community members to the Centre. They will create a memorable experience and ensure an exceptional level of customer service that will drive leads and generate sales for our homebuilder partners. The incumbent will proactively stay informed about ongoing development projects, updates, events, and changes within the University District community. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to our guests by professionally greeting and offering information and facility tours, etc.
  • Stay informed about new and upcoming projects, retailers, builders, and community events within University District
  • Responsible for general office duties including keeping updated records and files, tracking inquiries, ensuring timely response to questions, email management, and coordinating and managing office supplies and inventory
  • Oversight of Discovery Centre operations including opening and/or closing of the facility, updating the Centre’s main voicemail to reflect change of hours/holidays, maintaining a clean working environment, ensuring all interactive displays and merchandising units are free of debris and in good working order.
  • Support marketing and events including promotions, contests, social media posting/monitoring, event development/coordination, data collections and analysis including feedback regarding experiences, concerns and suggestions.
  • Support other UCPG marketing and corporate initiatives as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic engager – you enjoy interacting and have a desire to leverage your energy and confidence to make a positive customer connection.
  • Tech savvy – you’re comfortable with computers, internet, iPad, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Natural public speaker – presenting to groups and one-on-one comes naturally to you.
  • Statistics tracker – keeping detailed records of visitors, questions, enquiries, and monitoring this data for trends is instinctive for you because you’re curious.
  • Experience with developing and coordinating events, monitoring and posting on social media and exploring new ways to engage with our audience.
  • Someone who is enthusiastic to become a University District Champion and everything U/D.
  • Knowledge/interest in real estate sales process is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

DISCOVERY CENTRE HOURS ARE AS FOLLOWS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE):

Tuesday to Friday 1 to 7 pm

Saturday and Sunday 12 to 5 pm

Closed Monday

Civic and Statutory Holidays are typically weekend hours of operation but will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
