Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Online Learning Services, the Digital Media Coordinator (Coordinator) provides advice and guidance in the production of video for the division’s educational programming. Together with the Digital Media Specialist, this position is responsible for project managing the workflow, communications, scheduling, filming and post-production. The coordinator is also responsible for logistical support, advice and guidance for instructors and staff utilizing audio visual technology.
Job Requirements
Experience:
3 years practical experience working in a digital media environment.
Proficiency in the use of media systems and modern classroom audio visual technology
Proficiency in the use of Video Editing Software – Adobe Premiere Pro
Proficiency in the use of DSLR cameras, gimbals
Experience using industrial lighting equipment.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience working in a post-secondary environment.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines with changing priorities and constant interruptions.
Strong attention to detail and high regard for accuracy
Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation.
Exceptional problem-solving skills to find solutions when challenges are presented in the planning, shooting and editing phases.
Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to requests.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate high volume of workflow.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technology.
Must have demonstrated working knowledge of Macintosh and Windows computers and experience using MS Office, digital media presentation software, and experience performing web site content updates.
Proficiency in the use of MS Teams and Zoom
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to troubleshoot audio visual issues in view of small to large classrooms full of faculty, staff and/or students.
Specialized Knowledge and Education:
Technical knowledge of DSLR cameras used in video.
In-depth knowledge of lighting techniques (studio, interior and exterior), promotional videography shooting, video composition and audio techniques and processing for video
Technical and artistic ability of photographic postproduction using Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator etc.
Technical and artistic mastery of video postproduction using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects
Extensive knowledge of Mac OS platform
Knowledge of provincial privacy regulations and copyright law
Knowledge of digital asset management
