We are looking for a bright and ambitious experienced CPA to provide tax services to a wide variety of owner-managed, small to mid-size businesses. The applicant must have the ability to learn quickly and perform in a team environment. Job responsibilities will include: supporting tax partners through the identification of tax planning opportunities and strategies in the firm's varied client base. Preparation of step planning memorandums and technical reports for clients and partners alike. Assisting with the mentoring of other team members with respect to tax. Assisting with performing the review of personal and corporate tax returns and tax projects.
Qualifications Required
University graduate - Bachelor's degree
CPA designation
CPA In-depth Tax Course or Master of Taxation degree would be an asset
Ideally a minimum of four years experience with at least two years specializing in tax, however, will consider candidates with more or less experience for the right fit
Experience in tax planning for owner-managed, small to mid-size business is essential
Extensive knowledge of personal, corporate, partnership and trust tax legislation and compliance requirements
Strong problem solving, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Superior verbal and written communication skills are required
Knowledge of Caseware, and TaxPrep is required
Candidate should be comfortable working independently and have strong organizational skills
Previous experience in corporate reorganizations, estate planning and various filings of tax elections (Section 85, CDA, etc.) is desirable
