Overview
Westbrook Veterinary Clinic is looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to our animal patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and a desire to contribute to a positive environment for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
  • Preparing and handling animals prior to surgery with the help of the Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
  • Provide clients with information regarding pet care, veterinary diets, and follow-up appointments
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  • Ensuring all surgical equipments is wrapped and monitoring equipment for necessary maintenances required

Experience

  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment are essential.
  • A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is crucial for success in this role.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
