Buyer

WestCorp Solutions is looking to hire a seasoned Buyer for our client in rural Saskatchewan. This role involves supporting the Capital Projects team and other facilities as needed. This is an exciting opportunity for a Capital Procurement professional seeking dynamic challenges. This is a contract position which operates on a 4/3 schedule, though there may be opportunities for different shift models.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Project Engineering, Plant Leadership, and Business Unit executives.
• Manage supplier relationships and oversee vendor performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement procurement/contract strategies for assigned projects.
• Lead RFx document creation, bid evaluations, and negotiate contracts to ensure best value.
• Ensure compliance with company best practices and risk management protocols.
• Maintain databases for contracts, labor rates, and reporting while analyzing data to improve efficiencies.
• Drive process improvements through vendor evaluations and documented strategies.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of procurement and contracting experience in mining, EPC, or industrial settings.
• SCMP designation or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience in complex RFx processes.
• Six Sigma or LEAN methodologies is a plus.
• Exceptional skills in analysis, relationship-building, and communication.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment.
