The Kitchen Supervisor plays a critical role in the efficient operation of our kitchen. This position is responsible for overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and crucially, maintaining optimal inventory levels through strategic product ordering and control. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a keen understanding of inventory management principles. This candidate will work closely with our chef excetuing the menu design. Looking for an individual with eagerness to learn and expand their knowledge under our chefs supervision.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations and Supervision:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely food preparation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and dishwashers.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Inventory Management and Product Ordering:

  • Develop and implement effective inventory control systems to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels of all food, beverage, and kitchen supplies.
  • Forecast product needs based on anticipated demand and sales trends.
  • Place orders with approved suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of delivered products against purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and deliveries.
  • Perform regular inventory checks.
  • Rotate stock using the FIFO method. (First In, First Out)
  • Food Preparation and Quality Control:
  • Assist in food preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage.
  • Address and resolve any food quality or customer service issues promptly.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of kitchen operations, including inventory, orders, and staff schedules.
  • Assist in budget management and cost control.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Proficient in inventory management and product ordering.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic Computer skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
