GENERAL MANAGER

We are currently looking for a General Manager for our Cambridge facility. Reporting to the Vice President, the successful candidate will lead a team of production and sales staff in the manufacturing and supply of steel roofing and siding products to the Eastern Canada markets. The General Manager will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the process activities of Production, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, and Shipping and Receiving staff. They will oversee, review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment, and implementing innovative changes within production and operations management, human resources management and health and safety. The ideal candidate will be an expert communicator who has a strong ability to delegate responsibility and collaborate across a range of departments. Ultimately, the general manager should be driven by a desire to lead our business to maximum productivity and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Management, Engineering or related qualification such as project management or construction management.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment including production planning, inventory control, supply chain, quality and continuous improvement. Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management and human resource management.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills.
  • Solid computer and systems knowledge.
