Position Information

  • Reports to: Manager, Unit Procurement, Warehousing & Transportation

Summary Of Responsibilities

Process and administer all import/export activities for Yamaha Motor Canada on time and with accuracy.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Process all import shipment clearance for all product lines prior to port or border arrival in Canada.
  • Process and expedite export shipments, working directly with carrier, broker, and internal supply chain personnel.
  • Maintain import arrival dates in SAP to drive accurate arrival dates at dealer and improve dealer satisfaction.
  • Assist or back up other department staff when required, specifically assisting with backup of production and material planning, and inbound manifest processing.
  • Database maintenance for tariff classifications, MSR, NAFTA and STC updated within 2 business days of receipt.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy of entries for Duty and taxes and preparation of K84 reporting for internal accounting team. Duty and taxes processed and paid same day as received to The Receiver General of Canada.
  • Be active participant to SAP upgrade project (S4 Hana), as it relates to GTS. Contribute ideas and suggestions to streamline documentation requirements to Canada. Work on other projects of improvement as necessary.

Education Requirements And/or Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma: Trade Compliance / CCS
  • Program of Study: Customs/Logistics
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years preferred
  • Type of Experience: Must have experience working in customs related field.

Skills And Abilities

  • Customs Trade Compliance Certification
  • Work experience on Import side of business
  • Knowledge of SAP S4 Hana
  • Ability to work within CARM and work with broker
  • Cross-functional knowledge of Logistics and Customs practices.
  • Re-certification of IATA training required for Dangerous Goods shipments every two years
  • Good communicator
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task
