About the Unit

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Portfolio Lead Engineer, the Project Manager is account-able for the entire life cycle of assigned projects in his/her area. The Project Manager will lead each project from conception to completion while providing documentation and keeping control over cost, schedule, scope and shareholder requirements.
Responsible for budget development and adherence for all project phases
Accountable to identify all project stakeholders and determine their project involvement based on the project scope and complexity
Tracking of key project milestones as well as engineering and construction deliverables. Follow up and reforecasting of project schedule as required.
Accountable for stakeholder communication and updating the project team of timeline or requirement changes
Responsible to determine and document a clear scope for all assigned pro-jects, considering the needs of all project stakeholders.
Responsible for identifying and evaluating energy efficiency opportunities in projects
Responsible to manage all project documentation throughout the project life cycle
Responsible to present all projects at each decision gate for technical steering committee approval.
Responsible to ensure all project deliverables meet project requirements as well as site standards.
Education, Experience & Skill
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent training and industrial experience.
Project Management Professional Designation is considered an asset
Professional Engineering Designation with APEGS is considered an asset
5 years of project management, engineering, design and execution experience in an industrial setting.
Ability to work in a team environment and to coordinate resources from multiple groups
Ability to use standard software packages for schedule and tracking as well as reporting.
Working understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge
