Job Description This role supports the Strategic Planning department, which works directly with the Executive Team to define Children’s strategy and determines how resources should be allocated to pursue the strategy. The Strategic Planning intern will be responsible for managing and reporting deliverables for projects aligned with Children’s overarching strategy, as well as be a resource to the Market Intelligence, Physician Outreach, System Planning, Workforce Planning and Financial Planning teams. Project/position description: The Strategic Planning Intern will support the efforts of the Planning department, teams within the Planning department, and other cross-functional teams within Children’s through a variety of activities that include, but are not limited to: Championing and facilitating Children’s Planning process with internal stakeholders Developing detailed facility and planning region profiles Researching and summarizing findings on topics relevant to current initiatives Interpreting clinical data to identify key trends in patient populations Building relationships with key audiences including physician outreach and workforce pipelines Creating communications in the form of both presentations and written narratives Providing project management support – coordinating projects and resources, scoping, timeline management, monitoring project performance, documenting key decisions and milestones, etc. Education College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required Certification Summary No professional certifications required Qualifications: Progression toward an undergraduate degree in business/econ, public health or healthcare-related field Undergraduate 3rd or 4th year or graduate candidates preferred Strong work ethic, demonstrated initiative and adaptability Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguous projects Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Effective problem-solver, ability to interpret research and data into strategic insights High attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly time and task management Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word Job Responsibilities Develops and implements projects as assigned, which could include events, activities, programs, or research studies. Creates and carries out a cohesive plan for each assigned project. Establishes and maintains contact with all appropriate individuals to ensure that the plan is implemented in the best interest of the organization. Executes administrative and operational tasks for assigned projects. Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided and projects produced. Understands and complies with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations, while meeting all in-service requirements as outlined per policy.
