Position Summary:
The Nurse Educator sphere of clinical practice influences patient care, nurses’ competencies, nursing practice, and the development or organizational systems. The Nurse Educator demonstrates leadership by inspiring others to give compassionate, remarkable care to improve patient outcomes. In working with nurses, the Nurse Educator facilitates the development of the spirit of inquiry, critical thinking and skill synthesis and promotes nursing’s contribution to patient outcomes. The Nurse Educator functions in collegial relationships with physicians, nursing peers and other professionals and individuals who influence the health environment. Incorporated within each tole function, the Nurse Educator is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader, and cost-effective practitioner.
Requirements:
- Clinical Nurse Specialist and/or Nurse Educator role in a hospital setting.
- Education: BSN required, MSN preferred; or enrolled in Nurse Educator Program or Nurse Educator Certificate Program.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Educator role in acute care preferred; telemetry experience preferred.
- Certification/Licensure:
- Current MA RN license.
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Instructor certifications preferred.
- Must become TNCC certified within 6 months of hire.
- Instructor certification preferred within 1 year of hire.
- Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office
