What We Need:

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly organized Director of PC Compatibility to lead our compatibility team and ensure that our products deliver a seamless, high-performance experience across a wide range of hardware configurations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and developing the team, collaborating with manufacturers, and being a vocal advocate for the team across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex customer relationships to ensure product excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead the PC Compatibility team, encouraging a collaborative and results-driven environment.

• Mentor team members to enhance technical skills and improve overall team performance.

• Set clear goals and critical metrics, track progress, and ensure successful delivery of compatibility initiatives.

• Cross-Functional Advocacy & Communication:

• Serve as a key advocate for the compatibility team within the company, effectively communicating team goals, challenges, and achievements to senior leadership and other team members.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and other departments to integrate compatibility requirements into product development cycles.

• Act as the primary liaison between the PC Compatibility team and other functional areas of the Release Management organization to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and prioritization.

• Hardware Manufacturer Relationships:

• Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with hardware manufacturers (OEMs, component suppliers) to ensure that products are compatible across a wide range of hardware platforms and configurations.

• Coordinate and lead compatibility testing, ensuring the identification and resolution of compatibility issues early in the development process.

• Stay ahead of on industry trends and hardware developments to proactively address potential compatibility issues with new technologies or platforms.

• Compatibility Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Coordinate the design and execution of thorough compatibility testing processes, ensuring that our products meet performance, reliability, and compatibility standards across various hardware setups.

• Ensure that compatibility data is systematically collected, tracked, and communicated to the relevant teams to drive improvements and issue resolution.

• Identify, prioritize, and resolve hardware compatibility issues in partnership with engineering and quality assurance teams.

• Product Strategy & Innovation:

• Provide strategic insights to the product development roadmap based on trends, insights, and data from the hardware ecosystem.

• Help craft the product’s direction by bringing forward compatibility requirements that will enable broader market acceptance and adoption.

What Will Make You A Great Fit:

• Proven track record of running and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, environment.

• Experience working directly with hardware manufacturers, OEMs, and ODMs.

• Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of PC hardware, including processors, memory, storage, GPUs, motherboards, peripherals, and BIOS/firmware systems.

• Deep knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and the ability to work across various platforms.

• Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $144,300 and $213,540 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
