In this role, the Production Planner will coordinate, develop and communicate the production plan and material flow to optimize efficiency, cost, and customer delivery performance in a production facility in Kennewick, WA (around 125 employees), specialized in producing the high precision titanium tube products for very demanding markets like Aerospace and Medical.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate, as well as, cost effective levels of Raw Material, Work in Process and Finished Goods inventory.
Your Role
The Production Planner will support continuous improvement efforts in lean manufacturing work streams, communicate order status, operational needs, and schedule deviations to all necessary departments. The Production Planner will also be a key member in developing our planning system to meet the future needs of the company, which involves development of SOP´s, new communication tools, production forecasting, and implementation of a new ERP system among other things.
Responsibilities for this role also include inventory management, shipping, and Master scheduling. You will be responsible for routing administration, with an emphasis on delivery precision for all internal and external customers. The Production Planner will handle material flow and assignment, including customer order status.
All employees are responsible for participating, supporting, and maintaining compliance to the company’s Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, policies, procedures, programs, and activities as defined within the company’s published management system documentation.
About You
To be successful in this role good communication skills and a strong background in understanding business needs are important. Experience working in a planning environment and previous knowledge of ERP systems is preferred. Since much of your time will be focused on future and long term needs of the company the ability to understand the impact of current decisions and future requirements is key. Experience in and understanding of software included with the office package is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required for this position depending on your experience with planning and logistics.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be self-motivated and ready to take the initiative in this role. Your collaborative nature will allow you to work well with different departments and be comfortable interacting with stakeholders of all levels from the shop floor to the management team.
Effective communication combined with an extremely high attention to detail is also needed as well as understanding and the ability to effectively communicate why and when plans change to fit our customer requirements.
What you can expect from us
The salary range for this position is $67,000 to $101,040 annually with a 10% annual bonus and annual merit eligibility.
Additional elements of the compensation package include medical, dental, vision insurance as well as company paid disability and life insurance. We offer paid time off, 11 paid holidays a year and a 401 (K) retirement savings plan that has a 5% company contribution with company match of 50% for the first 6% you invest.
