Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the safety program for mechanical construction projects. This role requires ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and industry regulations while fostering a culture of safety among employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Facilitate safety training programs, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations, as well as client-specific safety requirements.
- Serve as a resource for safety-related matters and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in workplace safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field is a plus.
