Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and ascertain their shopping needs.
- Operate the cash register, handle cash transactions accurately, and process credit/debit card payments.
- Assist customers with product selection and provide recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
- Upsell products by effectively communicating promotions and special offers.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by stocking merchandise and ensuring displays are well-maintained.
- Conduct inventory checks and assist in restocking items as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
- Strong cash handling skills with experience operating a cash register.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math applications.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to upsell products and demonstrate persuasive selling techniques.
- Experience supervising or training new staff is a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
