POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental Services Supervisor provides leadership and direction to the Environmental Services Team. Responsible for all related housekeeping duties necessary within the Environmental Services Department scope of service and areas of responsibility. Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe, clean and sanitary environment. This position also is responsible for daily oversight of regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations and collaboration with other management and supervisory team members to support the department in its daily functions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Completes work schedules for employees to meet the needs of the facility. Provides daily work assignments to staff. Supervises work of staff throughout the day. Ensures all assignments are completed at the end of shift. Ensures established cleaning standards are met according to policies. Conducts, coordinates and/or participates in staff training programs. Provides employee feedback on Bed Tracking productivity standards. Coordinates staff schedules to complete scheduled project work. Ensures proper utilization of supplies and equipment. Participates in all aspects of Human Resource management for the department; including, but not limited to: recruitment and hiring, counseling, and performance appraisal processes. Participates in weekly rounds including Q2, EOC and any other Quality or regulatory rounds. Develops corrective action plans and ensures they are completed. Conducts both new employee orientation and on-the-job training of staff. Conducts routine employee inspections as assigned. Manages discharges and/or terminal cleans, as needed, utilizing the Connect Care ADT Environmental Services bed system. Performs Kronos timekeeping duties for their assigned shift. Reconciles Regulated Medical Waste manifest and maintains log documents. Responsible for assigned staff to complete Health Stream requirements. Ensures assigned staff has completed orientation and annual department competencies. Responsible for Hazardous Waste spill containment and clean up REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Minimum Years and Type of Experience 2 years' experience in Environmental Service/housekeeping department, preferably in an acute care facility environment. Preferred Licensure/Certification CHEST Certification OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Able to write and understand written and oral instructions; able to supervise a team of people and be flexible with workload demands.
