Thank you for considering a career at Mercy Health St. Anne Hospital - Full Time - Days/Afternoons Supervises and directs the daily operations of Environmental Services including supervision of all employees. Assures customer-focused, efficient and effective daily operations. To share responsibility for the common goals of Mercy Health and the Environmental Services Department through collaboration, quality assurance and process improvement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS SUPERVISION • Directly supervises and evaluates work performance of employees. • Conducts competency reviews per department policy, provides in-services and training programs as required. • Responsible for hiring, orientation and training of new hires. • Assists in completing annual performance appraisals and addressing disciplinary needs. • Manages performance deficits of employees according to Mercy Health policies and procedures. • Rewards and recognizes performance. • Completes and approves Time and Attendance; approves PTO requests. • Leads team by recognizing and rewarding teamwork, eliminating barriers, securing resources, and promoting problem-solving. SERVICE OPERATIONS • Coordinates ongoing and special requests to the department Manages staff workloads and schedules to assure timely and appropriate initiation of service. • Assures that all standards for the environment of care are met. • Manages financial performance with attention to effective utilization of supplies and resources, cost containment and operational improvement. • Completes orders for supplies and equipment and works with Materials Management . • Represents the department at meetings; attends appropriate continuing education programs. • Completes management reports as required and is accountable for department productivity and employee engagement. • Collaborates with other departments for the delivery of quality environmental services. • Assures compliance with policies and procedures and local, state, federal, and Joint Commission standards. • Coordinates special projects as requested CUSTOMER SERVICE • Assures that all expectations for customer service are met. • Communicates with customers with respect and cooperation; positively represents the hospital and department to others. • Responds in a timely fashion to customer complaints; follows up on actions taken. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT • Identifies improvement opportunities for service delivery, assures data collection and analysis and involves staff in improvement processes. - Helps team complete work as needed. • Completes Quality/PI reports as required. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 2 years in a Lead position Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 2 years experience as an Environmental Services technician preferred Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma / GED Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.
