Description
The Transportation Manager is responsible for providing thorough service for all internal and external clients and carriers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating effectively and managing team members.
What You'll Do:
- Manage a team of truck load brokers
- Develop and maintain Carrier relations, and act as liaison for TL sales manager
- Research and resolve issues regarding freight and billing issues related to shipments
- Daily communication with customers and vendors
- Track & trace shipments daily
- Schedule pick-up & delivery appointments
Requirements
- Experience in Logistics/Trucking Industry required
- Experience leading people
- Knowledge of TL transportation terms
- Proven communication skills a must (written & verbal)
- Verifiable customer service experience, and the ability to communicate professionally with customers and vendors
- Computer experience: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), ability to learn proprietary software & navigate multiple programs
- Must be able to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Highly motivated
- Detail oriented
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in business or related field
- Experience working with Salesforce software or other sales management software
