Job Purpose
The purpose of the BIM Manager is to manage and coordinate BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement on all related BIM projects, files, and models.
Job Description
Implementation
- Work with the Engineering Team to provide active leadership in BIM: implementation, real-world application, and related technologies in-practice
- Monitor the use of all BIM applications and works closely with in-house teams to ensure proper operations and usage of all programs and applications
- Help standardize and document BIM workflows and best practices
- Review BIM standards and templates to ensure usage, quality and consistency of client deliverables. Provides feedback to Engineering or facilitates feedback from colleagues
Mentoring & Training
- Educate office leadership and operations in the use and impact of BIM tools on projects. Work closely with senior engineering staff to integrate new application and knowledge in digital practice with project delivery
- Develop project specific implementation strategies and collaborate with project teams to insure BIM success
- Assist in the continuing development of training support materials and advanced training classes, if needed
- Evaluate project team development and identify new leaders to extend support network, provide feedback and grow the pool of talent firm-wide
- Oversee and monitor projects to offer advice and guidance when appropriate. Assist engineering teams at the onset of their project to manage expectations for deliverables and to meet project goals
- Provide ongoing Revit support and moderates internal Revit discussions. This may include "over the shoulder" (OTS) technical troubleshooting or supplement the Support / Helpdesk resources
Research & Development
- Identify application development opportunities to create further team efficiencies
- Participate in research and development, as available and meets schedule demands, related to existing and new BIM technologies, vendors, and application developers
- Research new design applications for inclusion in software portfolio. Participate in software beta programs from Autodesk, as availability and time permits.
- Manage and monitor all BIM application information and licensing
Communication
- Conduct periodic training classes and assist with curriculum development as applicable
- Help communicate information about new software upgrades, developments, or utilities
To be successful in this role, the selected candidate will have/display
- At least 5 year's productions experience in design, drafting or engineering
- Must have an in-depth working knowledge of current BIM versions with emphasis on project sheet set up
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Experience in AEC industry preferred
- Positive attitude with a drive to learn and grow
- Organization skills with the ability to prioritize
- Ability to have strong customer service with both internal and external customers
- Ownership of tasks, issues, and assignments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,515.00 - $95,848.00 per year
