Position: Employee Relations Coordinator
Program: Administrative Services
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Salaried, Exempt
Supervisor: Human Resources Director
Job Summary: The Employee Relations Coordinator is a professional level position that seeks to support the relationships between Abilis and its employees. The goal of employee relations is to create a positiove relationship between employers and employees that leads to an increase in employee retention, happiness and productivity. The Employee Relations Coordinator will be responsible for employee engagement, performance management, the ongoing development of staff through training and managerial guidance, compensation management, workplace conflict guidance, investigations and resolutions, organizational-wide HR policies, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment law and other regulations where required. They will be part of a team seeking to continually improve services and improve effciencies. They will work closely with Human Resources Director and Chief Operating Officer in supporting system wide programs.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a point of contact for employees requiring support
- Tracks and submits requests for employee referral finder’s fee, tuition remission and other programs.
- Conducts employee engagement meetings including 30-day follow-up meetings with new employees, stay interviews and focus groups and makes recommendations for improvement based on the findings of these meetings.
- Conduct exit interviews and makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
- Celebrate birthdays and work anniversaries.
- Develop programming for mentorship opportunities for new and existing staff.
- Ensure regular communications with employees so they understand what they’re working toward and how it aligns with the company’s broader mission in order to feel fully engaged.
- Identify trends and implement new practices to engage and motivate employees.
- Conduct research on employee satisfaction (e.g. using surveys and quantitative data).
- Responsible for annual performance evaluation process and policy.
- Ensure all new hires complete their 90-day evaluations.
- Support managers with inquiries regarding the performance issues and the evaluations process in line with policy.
- Assist managers with the process of warnings and terminations, including drafting format and appropriate language.
- Oversee all electronic storage of personnel records in line with Abilis policy on record retention.
- Process personnel action forms to approve changes in positions, pay changes, and terminations in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the upkeep and distribution of employee handbook.
- Work as a team with Accounting and Finance on any payroll and or budget related transactions including position management.
- Participate in Department of Labor Unemployment hearing with the Recruitment and Benefit Coordinator to respond to claims.
- Paycom data integrity, audits and attention to detail are critical.
- May be required to attend board meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of 5 years of HR experience.
- Previous experience in HRIS systems (Paycom is preferred).
- Strong software skills.
- Experience working for a nonprofit organization is preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Strong team player with a willingness to participate and help others.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
