Position: Job Coach
Program Assignment: Competitive Employment
Supervisor: Director of Competitive Employment Services
Job Summary: The Job Coach is responsible for implementing training programs for assigned employees, collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team to develop Individual Program Plans (IPPs), and ensuring a safe, professional work environment.
Schedule: Full-time: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 3 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized training programs aligned with IPPs.
- Track progress through data sheets and employment assessments.
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements to teaching strategies and goals.
- Train and assist employees with personal hygiene and behavioral management.
- Teach job skills and professionalism to employees.
- Manage work distribution, quality control, and documentation.
- Support employees in routine workplace activities and adherence to safety protocols.
- Supervise participants and maintain a safe work environment according to OSHA and Abilis’ policies.
- Ensure the security of job sites and proper care of agency vehicles.
- Adhere to traffic safety procedures and keep vans clean and orderly.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and agency committees.
- Contribute to the growth and improvement of the Employment Services program.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and the public.
- Facilitate communication between job sites and employees, supporting fellow Job Coaches as needed.
- Represent Abilis professionally and advocate for employees.
- Be knowledgeable about participants' special diets, medications, behavior plans, and seizure disorders.
- Implement interventions and complete seizure reports as required.
Essential Functions:
- Communicate effectively with participants.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under agency policies.
- Safely operate agency vehicles and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain necessary CPR certification.
- Stay current with required training and certifications.
- Provide direct supervision and safely use adaptive equipment.
- Implement program goals and manage participant behaviors.
- Physically access various program locations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED. One year of human service work experience may substitute for education.
- Preferably certified in Customized Employment
Salary : $17 - $18
